Sveinung Iversen, born in Voss, Norway in 1954, resides in the picturesque region of Western Norway where he makes print artwork and paintings.
Identifying himself as both a graphic artist and a painter, Iversen has traversed various artistic styles over the years. While he has predominantly explored realistic expressions through etchings, his portfolio includes notable pieces themed around nuclear threats, showcased in large-scale etchings. Themes revolving around nature and the human form have been enduring motifs in his work, rendered in mediums ranging from etchings to watercolors and oil paintings.
Educated at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts from 1973 to 1977, Iversen has had over 60 solo exhibitions since his debut in 1976. He has participated in exhibitions spanning Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, The Orkney Islands, Bulgaria, Portugal, and Japan.
In 2013, Iversen won the first prize at the BELA Biennale for European and Latin American graphic art in Osaka. His works are represented in the collections of art institutions such as the Norwegian National Museum of Art and several regional art museums across Norway.
